Help me out... I rattled another nx8

I rattled another nx8 and I'm low on confidence now. I am considering a maven but would like to see an actual set of images at a target of any kind that are taken at the same time/place as another scope....preferably a tenmile, lrhs, zeiss, nx8, mark5 or atacr so I can get an idea of what I should expect.

I have had horrible luck finding anything other than my bushnells that can survive the ride on my ol' trx300 racks.

I'm thinking of selling off all of my nightforce scopes if the maven will be as tough as the bushnell.

I am running plans in my head to build a test bench that mimics the ride in my racks to be able to see if a scope will survive. The ride in my racks was bad and the koplin case looks like a sewing machine when I am bombing around.

I don't have any pics, but have both the Maven and LRHS.

I prefer the Maven reticle. The target visibility is better. I can't say better or equivalent for durability because I haven't had any problems with either. No personal experience with NF.

If I can get out after work soon, I'll try to get you some pictures.

I know someone will be along to claim they can't see the Maven dot, but I had the lady hitting 12" targets at 600+ on about 8x and she didn't say anything or turn up the magnification.

I have a bunch of the lrhs scopes. I like the idea of the 2.5x as I have a guide 650 2.0 clip on coming and the rs1.2 shares the same rusan adapter. I have one on order for the nx8s....but I am not sure I have any faith left.

I really like the floating dot for fine work....and the rs1.2 seems like it would be a good fit on my folders.

Or...

I had a Maven Rs 1.2. It did what it was supposed to. View was very good and matched with scopes in a higher price tier. Bought 2 more LRTS 4.5-18 over the summer, bringing the total with a couple of LRHS's to 10. Anyway, prefer the Bushies over the Maven, mostly due reticle, but there were other minor things. Maven rode the shelf for a bit, then sold it. Was a very good scope, but I dont miss it.

Second of the 2 LRTS's I snagged over the summer replaced a 4-32 NF on a 1:8 300 mag. I didn't have any trouble with the NF and it was a good scope, but much prefer the G3 reticle to the F1 Mil-C I had in the NX8.

6 of my Bushies are the harder to find 3-12, which is my preference for hunting; however, such as it is, I won't say no to more of any of them or the DMR's for the right price.

ATACR 4-16x42. I think they are one of the toughest scopes on the market.
My shooting partner has an atacr and I can't understand why they cost what they do. That scope is gross optically. His hasn't broken yet....but when you go from a mk5 to it, there's no comparison......and I don't have much love for leupolds

My SWFA's and Maven RS1.2s ride through literal hell in the backseat of the Jeep getting to some of my shooting mountains/canyons. I am NOT nice to my Jeeps or 4 wheelers. I cannot imagine a rougher ride to any hunting spot. They have all stayed zeroed so far once I started mounting them per @Formidilosus methods.

I have a cj7 and a 80 series cruiser....and a 5500 4x4. There is no comparison between riding on the floor or a seat and gun racks on a 93 trx300.

Then he needs to have it looked at. The 4-16x F1 ATACR is excellent optically.

Beyond that, if you are messing NX8’s up like that, you either have the worst luck on the planet, or have serious issues somewhere else. The LRHS’s were good scopes, but in no way can they handle abuse or vibration that NXS/ATACR/NX8’s can.

Gun racks on my 4 wheelers are way nicer on the guns overall than the floor of my vehicles.

More vibration on the 4 wheeler but way less bumpy and bouncy.

If you have broken multiple nx8s, either you have a problem elsewhere in your gun system or you need to change what you’re doing because there isn’t another scope that will materially be tougher

Luck could be part if it. I managed to bust a ball in a bix too.20250928_124413.jpg
