Ok first off I absolutely love all of my first lite gear. I've been going on 3 seasons with them all except the rain gear. This is the first year using the boundary stormtight. First time out with them this year I got a tear on the upper right leg. Bummer! This was very disappointing considering the cost. Has anyone else had this happen??? If so what did you do? What would you recommend for a fix or should I just contact FL and see what my options are? I'm at a loss at what to do about it. Thanx in advance guys!

Patch it up with some k tape or seam grip and get back at it.

Kind of depends. Did they rip because you caught them on something sharp or just come apart? Either way, I think you can contact FL and see what they will do for you. I would just be reasonable, and if they ripped because of some harsh use and not a manufacturing defect accept the responsibility. I once snagged a high dollar pair or rain pants climbing over a barbed wire fence. It sucked, but it was my fault. As mentioned above you could try duct tape for a temporary repair.

Assuming that the tear is due to regular use, I'd use Tenacious Tape to put them back together, then might apply a very thinned down layer of silicone seam sealer.

I bumped into a snag with mine and tore them. I was bummed as well but didn't feel like it was FL's fault. I put some clear tenacious tape on it and they are good to go.

Its surprising how good a tenacious tape patch looks and works. It convinced me to get some and keep it handy.

Thanx for the input guys. I actually tore them on an antler tine while we were moving the buck around to field dress it. I do have some tenacious tape. I think I will contact FL first then go from there. I would've rather tore my Kanabs, (I kinda want to get the talls) oh well. I'm just super bummed cause they had almost no field time. Thanx again guys.

You tore your pants. It happens. Not a big deal. It means you were hunting in them. :)

I completely agree with your sentiment, but they are a waterproof rain pant/ shell. It kinda defeats the purpose of using them if they don't do what they were designed to do. My Kanabs still work no problem with a couple small holes/ wear spots. No big deal, stuff wears out when you use it and use it hard. I get it. It's not so much a cosmetic issue as it is more of a functional problem I guess.

Haven't torn mine yet but I'll be more careful now.

Please do Robby! I beat the brush pretty good for two days in them before I screwed up and snagged my buddies deer antler. I think they work great unless you snag something pretty substantial. I like the fit and versatility of them above all others. I am First Lite all the way.

Easy fix man. Ask first lite if they offer repair services. I've had some old outdoor research gaiters patched many times over the years by the manufacturer.

I'm too honest at times, I've ripped clothing inside warranty but because I knew it was my fault I didn't bother contacting the manufacturer. To me its like buying a car, crashing it and taking it back to the shop complaining it no longer works.

Ok, I put a tenacious patch on it. Inside and out. Then I sandwiched it with weight for the last 2 days. Hopefully it works well. It looks like it will! I will be taking them back out this weekend for some wet weather to test it out. I'll let you guys know how it works for me. Thanx again to all of you!:D

I just purchased and sent back a pair of boundary stormtights, they looked way too flimsy for anything other than trail walking.

I rip the shit out of all my pants hunting in North Idaho. Even trail walking is hazardous here:) The stormtight pants have lasted the longest out of all the midweight rain pants I have used.

If the hole is small I would just use a little silicone.
