Micarta version was a loaner. 4 big game animals w the knife this year. Very pleased with the knife and how it handles. Buddy and I used these two on most recent elk. The only “negative” is that they have a razor edge that requires slight tuning to keep at perfection, you certainly don’t have to, especially if you keep it off bone.

Got mine in today. Dixie vs ESEE belt knife for visual comparison. I have the cold steel in my white tail kit at the moment otherwise I’d show it here as well.

I appreciate the magnacut on the ESEE and the leather sheath for the price. The Dixie feels lighter (I need to put them on the scale) and follows more of the traditional sweep of the belt knife. Wish I had this last week when I was breaking down a bunch of deer. Hopefully next week I’ll put it to use.
