This fellow started showing up, and these are still the two best photos.

I was trying to get a rough estimate of the scoring, but I’m still very green on scoring one sitting in front of me, let alone estimating from a picture.

Any help or tips? I know ears are usually about 8 inches here. 170+?

Download chat gpt then upload the pic to it. Have it score it. Honestly it's surprisingly accurate. Sometimes it'll be on crack. But I'd honestly say it's about 90%.

Am I correct you lose measurement when the main beam comes back together at the tips?
Not really. You would only lose measurement when the spread is larger than the main beam.
What you’re thinking about is the “spread credit” measurement ie: main spread. As long as it is equal to or less than the main beam length then you can use the spread measurement. If the spread exceeds the main beam length, then you need to use the main beam length for your calculation.
