Help a new .300WSM reloader!

I can’t find ammo, I can’t find brass, can barely find primers, and I’m somewhat new to this hobby. I need to start reloading for my Tikka T3 .300WSM for hunting this fall. I primarily use it for moose, bear, and mountain goat. I’d like to stay in the 180gr-200gr. range. I currently have some Federal brass and Barnes brass, H4350 and H4831SC, and 180gr. TTSXs.

I’ve done a lot of reading through the forums and found some people have success with these bullets and powders, but haven’t seen many share their reports using a combination of these components I have on hand. I was hoping someone could steer me in the right direction with what I have or if I need to just bite the bullet and continue waiting for more components to hit the shelves.

You have the components, load them up. H4350 works just fine with 180s, I’m sure 4831 does also, but I haven’t tried it. Check the Barnes data, load them up, and go kill stuff. There’s other bullets available, if your hang up is shooting Barnes.

I currently have some Federal brass and Barnes brass, H4350 and H4831SC, and 180gr. TTSXs.

Assuming you have primers you're set. Google "Barnes load data" will get you data from the source for your 180 ttsx, and they have a load from rh4350. I think Barnes and Federal brass might be one in the same. I'd back off and approach their max cautiously, I've found I can't always reach it, especially if I don't have the same brass.

Start lighter and work up. This is directly from Barnes. You have the right components

H4350 and RL19 got me both around 3000fps with the 175 LRX. RL19 had a slight edge in accuracy but I actually loaded my last 20 rounds with my remainder of RL19 today. Going to have to tweak that H4350 load in the future.

The Barnes data for H4350 and 180 gr bullets produced great results in my Tikka 300 WSM.

I ended up near book max at .050" off the lands.

Norma brass
Federal large rifle magnum primers
0.048" off lands

3125 fps

5 shot group: All shots touching at 0.6" at 100 yards

You have what you need but my local sportsman’s warehouse also had 20 boxes minimum of 200 grain Terminal Ascent

The Terminal Ascents shoot well, and Norma Bondstrikes shoot well for factory ammo in case you don’t want to load. The federal is available on Federal’s website although expensive as a direct buy.

64.5 gr H4350 with 180 accubonds here. Winchester brass and WLRM primers. Factory browning xbolt that shoots em less than an inch @ 100 yds every time.

I have same gun. It loves 180 accubond over 61.5 grains of hybrid 100v at 2.86”. Also loves partitions, but can’t remember the load.
