Help: 300 win mag velocities

For those of you shooting 300 win mags, what kind of velocities are you getting out of the heavier bullets?

CBTO 2.904 (.035 off lands), 3.685 COAL
Berger 215
CCI 250
Norma brass
Right at 2950fps with 26inch tube

Yeah, I know it takes awhile on some barrels but the wait will be worth it. I'm kind of in the same boat as my rifle is getting restocked (based off of a manners) with a very nice Turkish walnut stock by Joel Russo. Going through shooting with drawls as I have not shot it in awhile..............

BTW, that load that I use could be ramped up but the accuracy is there so I am happy with it.

My chamber is cut long for the 230 Bergers, which allows me to seat the 215's way out. That essentially makes the case capacity bigger than normal. For comparison, I loaded one of these rounds in a Christensen Arms Ridgeline, and the bolt was a little over .25" from closing due to the length.

Almost looks like your chamber cut was designed to be used as a freebore set up. That's a long throat.
Do you have to feed them individually or do you have an extra long magazine?

One sexy looking cartridge. My 300 winny was built on a 340 weatherby mark V action so I can seat my bullets (215's) out and still fit in the magazine---perfect setup. I am sure that I could get more velocity out of it but it really likes that 73 grain node.

Have built , shot and hunted with many. With H-1000 and a 210 from a 28" Broughton 2995. with a 215 3035. Many 26" with the 215's have went 2975 +. All under 78 gr of H-1000.

Figure 20 to 25 fps per inch of barrel between 24 and 30"

You got me on to the 215, 230 grain boat years ago, you have by far the most prac. App. on these bullets out of a 300 win.. My current Light Weight LR rig is loving the 215's loaded .006 Jump, 75 gns. H1000 and the velocity is 2856 verified out to 1125 yards. Do you think there is another node above this one? 26'' barrel standard 300 win chamber.

Case capacity is increased yes but the PSI has to go somewhere. you must have a ton of free bore to accommodate for this, that is the way WBY got away with it. Not bagging just want to learn how this is feasible.

210grn Berger VLD 2975fps on a CED M2 chrono. 73grns RE22 with Winchester Brass. I don't recommend attempting this load, if you do it is at your own risk.

increasing case capacity reduces pressure with equal powder charges allowing for increased powder charges to stay within pressure limits. i think litz wrote an article about it. whoever wrote it, its on bergers website

I had 3 nodes. Around 72, 75 and 77-78. All under .5 moa.
