I have seen threads on this topic but I have also seen threads that certain zebralights need a higher output battery.

As anyone who has been on Zebralights website leaves more confused.

The lamp I just purchased is a H600c Mk IV. (Normal beam 4000k)

Thanks for the help everyone.

Recommended accessories at the bottom shows a 3500 mAh battery, so anything above that you should be golden.

Thanks for the replies.

I ended up ordering some unprotected Samsung 30Q and Sony VTC6. Went on some forums where a bunch of battery and flashlight geeks talked about things I can’t comprehend and that is what I came out with.

The usb ones will be a next purchase. A lot of people seem to like them.

I don't have one to verify this but I believe Nitecore makes a small setup that can be used to charge your 18650 batteries and also convert them into a power bank to charge other items from the fully charged 18650 (ie. charging your inreach). It's called the Nitecore LC10.

Sounds like the OP is set up now but I'll throw in another recommendation for the Orbtronic batteries. I've had two for years and been very pleased with them. I've had a couple cheaper 18650's die and refuse to take a charge but my Orbtronics have never let me down and I use them a lot.

Yep, I've had my eye on it for a little while now and will likely pick one up, but wanted to verify that the batteries with the microUSB port in them won't just work that way without the charger.

I don't believe so, but I've never tried it.

As a follow-up/confirmation to your answer.. I emailed Nitecore earlier today and asked them the same question, and I just received a reply from them, and they stated that the usb port will not work for an output charge..

A question for the fellow 18650 battery uses... @twall13 , @K1United , @coiloil37

I have been using 3500 mah batteries in my zebralight for years, and I need to grab another battery, and I searched ebay quick and I see 18650s that are rated 5800, 8800, and even 9900 mah batteries.. I probably won't buy no-name batteries off ebay, but do they really make 18650s with that much capacity nowadays, or is that a gimmick?

Something tells me that since I can't find any reputable brands with batteries that high, they are not actually 5000+ mah.

I haven't looked into it too much recently as my 3500 Orbtronic batteries are still going strong. I'm skeptical they can pack that much in there, and honestly, I don't really need that much in a headlamp. I'd stick with well known brands and know you're safe. 3500 mAh is plenty to run my Zebralight for well over a week long trip.

if you have a Lithium Ion battery for a cordless that has "died" you can pull it apart and get a few 18650's

I would confidently assume that’s a marketing gimmick but I haven’t looked into it. If all the reputable brands are stuck around 3500 mah that’s probably the max you can get in a 18650.
I‘m still using my 3500 mAh orbtronics that must be 10 year old by now. I haven’t noticed any loss of capacity/run time. They’re a damn good battery.
