Hello from CA

New member and excited to be here. Spent the past couple of years bumping into this site and finally became a member. Making my first optics purchase from a like-minded hunter, consuming info as much as possible and getting out in the field as much time allows. My son and I each drew deer tags this fall and I drew an AZ tag for mule deer. It will be a great October/November with as much learning as possible.

I probably should have said binos… Swaro 15x56s. To add more to the convo I have a Weatherby Vanguard in 30-06 with a Leupold VX-6HD 3-18x44. Seems to work well at the range, killing critters is TBD.

All those things sound good. The 30-06 has been killing forever. Pick the right bullet for the task, know you max range for reliable expansion, practice past that range and put it where it needs to go. He’ll fall.

Most have a 30-06 for a reason. It may be fading on this forum but not out in the world.
