Helio bottoms?

Anybody here use these in conjunction with another base layer? The description has them as a mid layer. I have good base layers but maybe not super warm for long glassing sessions so I am looking at these. Pros? Cons?

The Helio Bottoms have become one of our favorite base/mid layers. They are extremely comfortable and the side vents are awesome. They would work perfect as a warmer base layer for long glassing sessions!

I wonder if they call them a mid layer because they are counting underwear as the base? I wouldn't want to wear long underwear underneath them.

I wear Sitka core lightweight leggings underneath. Works very well.

They are nice - but a layer under them would seem tough, because they are very close fitting.
