Heated vest experience?

Ororo Puffy for me. Works great. IMO heated clothing pieces are a game changer for me hunting in Minnesota.

I have had the Pnuma for about 6 years now. When it's cold I put on top of my base layer and when it's really cold I put directly on skin. The vest does make a huge difference.

I’ve had a TideWe heated vest for a couple months now. I’ve used it whitetail hunting from stands and duck hunting. I absolutely love it. The battery it came with doesn’t last real long, but on high it’ll get you through a hunt. So maybe 4 hours, maybe a little more. It’s convenient bow hunting. Less bulk and easier to draw. Same deal putting a shotgun to your shoulder. I’ll continue using mine

I got a black fleece one off Amazon for working on the railroad. It's a game changer. Especially if I gotta be out side standing still.

I love my Pnuma Iconx vest. Love it so much I bought a spare just in case. Highly recommend.

I did the same. However, I’m thinning some things out and currently have it posted for sale if anyone’s looking.

I use the Milwaukee vest as a layer. It does work, no question.

The heat is not in an ideal place, but it is what I have. I'd look for one that put heat on the lower back (mine doesn't). I use the vest over the base layers walking in for the pockets it has and I like it for that. I'd seriously consider one of the heated baselayers if I was starting over.
@Tod osier is there a specific brand of heated baselayers you'd go with over another? I'm somewhat familiar with some of the brands, as I have the Lenz heated socks (5.1) and the Therm-IC heated insoles, both of which saved my keester yesterday. Appreciate any thoughts on heated baselayers - been considering heated vest but also looked into those too.

Another big Pnuma heated vest fan here. I wear it directly next to the skin or over an All Clima wool fishnet baselayer top.

I have the ororo puffy vest, works great. If I was to do it again, and I might get another one, I would get their fleece one less bulk (it's already heated no bulk needed). Wool layers under and coat/jacket over the top.

I bought a fieldsheer heated vest from another rokslide member this season and I love it. I bought a pair of their heated bottom merino base layers to try, but they haven't arrived yet. I plan on trying their socks too.
Any feedback here on the merino heated base layers? Torn between the Pnuma synthetic base versus the merino option. Though some guys in this thread seem to run the merino next to skin with the Pnuma vest or heated long sleeve over the top

I only got to wear them a couple times. They work great, but I can't speak on how durable they are yet.

I have an Ororo heated puffy that I love. I wish my battery pack was different though. It uses a pin jack type plug. Not sure if I can get and adapter so I can use my USB power banks with it.

I agree that getting one that heats the lower back is important. I like to wear mine over my base layer

I picked up a vest and some socks from Amazon after the season ended last year, so I haven't hunted in them yet, but I did wear them several times to long range days during the winter and they are truly game changers. I NEVER have warm feet when it's cold, when sitting on stand. I've tried every combination you can think of with insulated boots vs non-insulated boots, merino wool or alpaca wool socks, hand warmers in the boots, blah blah. I wore the heated socks in uninsulated rubber boots for 7 hours on a couple of winter range trips and my feet felt spectacular. The socks themselves are very comfortable. I don't know that heated options are the thing for woods walking/still hunting, you know, lots of the movement, but if you're going to be doing an all-day sit in a stand or blind, they seem to be the ticket.

Do you have a link to the socks you bought? I love my heated vest. It helps reduce my layers and keeps me nice and toasty!

I'll throw in another vote for the milwaukee gear. If your just sitting and weight isn't an issue you can get an m12 to m18 converter. And I was able to fit a 12 amp battery in the pocket. It will last all day sitting in a stand.

I have the pnuma heated base layer vest. Best investment yet. Heat in all the right places watch for a sale I think I got mine for 75 bucksIMG_1397.jpegIMG_1396.jpeg
