I know some of you guys have used these with success, most notably Evan Williams. I'm flirting with the idea of picking one up, if it increases my odds of success hunting solo, then I'll do whatever I need to do to come out with a heavier pack. The only thing I can't figure out is how to mount the bow mount on my bow and still be able to use my stabilizer and side bar. I realize I could always just take off the quick disconnects and side bar mount, but that's a PITA and time consuming. Anyone have any ideas on how I can make this work? I'll try to post pictures of my QD's and side bar mount when I get home tomorrow...currently at the fire station until 7 AM.

I can't tell you how to mount it to you bow but I did consider trying the bow mount and then thought better of it when I considered the impact a light breeze would have on my ability to shoot accurately with the deer "kite" attached to my bow. I bought the clamp that allows you to clamp the decoy to brush, limbs and so on and I've been real pleased with that option.

I was looking at the clamp too, can you clamp it on a stabilizer without damaging the stabilizer?

Bringing this to the top. I picked up HUD and clamp, question is how do I attach the clamp to the decoy? Do i have to pull the plastic off the handle as the plastic end won't fit into the slot on the clamp side. My plan was to use handle, and if I have an incoming deer, clamp the handle to the fence, sage whatever.

Fwiw, i like the UP elk, but the UP doe deke cost me 2 deer in the kast couple days.
I bought the first iteration of these a few years ago and gavent used it until now. ITS WAY TOO LIGHT COLORED and spooks deer.

Im trying to salvage my hunt and rubbed coffee grounds into it to darken it up- maybe.

OTH, we deked in multiple deer on public ground with a montana deke, too windy today though to use them- 20 mph plus

The rubber handle will slide off of the decoy and you can insert the carbon rod of the decoy into the clamp or the bow mount. I use both and it’s a very effective setup. Killed my biggest buck ever last year with the HUD on the ground at 10 yds.

where are you hunting? Scenario? The one I got looks pretty flipping good color wise.

I’m going to use it for MD and possibly WT along with my full 3D buck decoy.

I should have taken a pic before i stained it- it looks luke an albino deer from a distance.
Im hunting in the midwest. We deked in 2 good bucks today with the montana- one a 160”, another a monster 8 i had come in behind a thick bush at 4 yds with no shot- how do they know the one spot you cant shoot?

Dekes are deadly but i lost confidence in my UP whitetail. Could it be the head is too big?

my UP was first gen.... i need to call them for a swap- good outfit, I bet they would swap it out.
