Headlamps with cord. Good or bad?

A traditional headlamp with a full band is significantly more comfortable than a corded model. The corded models have their place, but comfort is their main trade-off for ultra-lightweight portability.

There are the corded models with battery on the back of the head, which is mainly seen in models with larger rechargeable batteries and longer run times, but there are some smaller ones. I think they are somewhat obsolete if a person doesn’t mind buying more smaller batteries. Working at night, or folks who just don’t like all the weight on their forehead, but need a larger headlamp are probably the target market. That big Felix (sp?) puts out 1000 lumins for two weeks if it’s never turned off.

A belt mounted battery is definitely a dinosaur, or for industrial uses, but once you get used to that cord it doesn’t snag much.
