My Wife and I along with my sister in law and her boyfriend are heading up to Kalispell for a 5 day trip. We have an air b&b. Hopefully get to see some parts of Glacier although I know most higher elevation roads and trails will be closed by this time of year. Just wanted some info on what to expect weather wise and maybe things to do around town. I am going to be packing for this like I am packing for a late season deer hunt just in case we get the opportunity to hike around the park. This is my first time around this area so any info is welcome. Thanks!

Kids had a soccer tournament up in Whitefish two weekends ago. It was cold, windy and I don't think the sun comes up in that valley before 9:30. Wish we had more time to explore but we enjoyed some beautiful scenery. Hope you enjoy your trip!

Frosty mornings. sun might come out, might not. Your coming from PA? That makes a difference in how to pack. If you want to hike outside glacier, let me know and I can suggest some places to go as well as some places to eat too. PM me your number if you are interested and I can text or call more information if you would like. If you do any hiking, bear spray would be something to carry. I have extra if you want to borrow it because you can't take it home on the plane if you buy it. I live in Kalispell/Columbia Falls so easy to let you borrow it.

As stated above, cold mornings and sun is questionable. May get a warm up but be prepared for winter. Last year Halloween we had snow and then it melted and we hardly had any at Xmas. Avalanche lake in the park is an easy go to. If there is no snow you could rent bikes and head part way up going to the sun. Can get into the park of Hwy 2 and hike up towards firebrand pass.

Some good restaurants in kali, Desoto Grill is my favorite in town. My favorite in the valley is three forks grill in Columbia falls.
