Just a couple notes if anyone is wanting to run a Hawkins Hunter 223 Flush Magazine
with a HNT 26 Tikka build.

1- The bump out on the back of the mag is about 1/16 too far down. A flat file to heighten the bottom of the bump out is necessary.

2- The feed lips on the mag are too thick. They will hit on the bottom of the action before the mag can latch in place. I took a grinding wheel and the file to narrow the outside of the lips so that it can fully seat.

3- This mag holds 5 rds, however it does so just barely with no movement downwards. When you try to install the mag with all 5 rounds and the bolt forward on the gun, it will not fit. The magazine will only seat in place with 4 rounds in it.

the mag was probably designed for a remington type action. tikkas generally only work well without modification with AICS metal feed lip mags or the factory mag. Plastic AICS mags wont fit unless grinded the feed lips way dont and it kind of becomes pointless

Hi guys, our magazines are designed to be compatible with Remington 700 style actions and their clones ONLY. Any other action type is going to give you issues.

But with some minor mods sounds like he got it to work! Which I think is what he was getting at.

Acknowledge that has to be Hawkins stance but sure is sweet if users can do some minor mods and avoid heavy AICS options.

Keep making em!!!!

I have one in a savage element chassis. May try to work it to fit my tikka as well. Worse case I give Hawkins some more money.
