Long story short , I killed a 48” goat and had a life size done on it. It’s been in my home ever since and I’m a clean freak. It’s been about 20 years and I want to have it professionally cleaned. The guy who mounted it for me has passed away so that’s not an option. Have any of you guys had one cleaned and if you would mind may I ask what they got you for the service? I’m asking before I get on the phone and start calling people so I can be hopefully somewhat prepared for sticker shock. Thanks

I have no idea, but I'm in the same boat myself, have one that needs cleaned from fireplace smoke. Also know another guy who has one that was handed down from his step father and we were just talking about this last week.

If it's just dust, a vacuum, a damp cloth, and then a small blower of some kind to fluff it back up may be all that's needed. Smoke, mildew or other issues may require professional help.

Follow above:

I have cleaned my Full Body Tahr 3xs in 5 years (besides regular dusting) and my grandpas African Lion Fullbody that hadn't been cleaned in probably 10 years. Outside I took my air compressor and blow them off. Then do basically exactly like the link above says.

Unless their is damage (bug, mold, cracks, etc) take about 35-40 minutes and your good to go. We have around 24 mounts mostly shoulder mounts, a couple FB, 3 or 4 bird/fish mounts. I clean them once a year. Pull them all down, compressor, quick wipe down, q-tip eyes and nose and back on the wall. Takes a couple hours but do some shuffling around of mounts etc while I got them down.

Do a quick dusting a couple times a month when we "deep" clean the house.
