There's no reason it can't, you just need some heavy hitters to act accordingly.

We may even be able to use this as an example, as I think the list of detractors will continue to grow.

I moved to Ogden about a year ago. Yes, this place is weird. Generally, very uniformed people everywhere.

As far as the "majority" around here. What I've heard said for a long time is "we are supposed to be stewards of the land" and they take that to mean do whatever the F they want to make a buck.

Something I found interesting is that it is on the news today that Utah is having problems with their budget deficit and are looking at raising the food tax to raise money. Yet they want to take control of federal lands and will somehow be able to afford to maintain these lands and not have to sell them off.
