Ruta Locura their homepage says it all about the politics of the state of Utah and their blatant disrespect for our public lands. I even had a post come up on my instagram feed from that idiot Chaffetz. It almost made me sick to read his obvious lies about withdrawing 621 because of groups he supports thought it sent the wrong message blah blah blah.

We don't have to wait for businessess to act against UT. Since $ is the language that gets heard best there, I am looking for ways to vote w my wallet against PLT, inc. anything related to UT. Not going to travel there, trying to stay away from buying from UT businesses, encouraging others to do likewise. States get to decide whatever works for them w their own property, but they can't take federal lands.

Utah is on my shit list big time. It seems to the be the hub of this issue right now and maybe it time we sportsmen and our organizations push back against them.

Agree 100%. I've lived here in Utah for about two and a half years. It's the most idiotic place I've ever lived in. They just don't get it, and you can almost guarantee that any Bill that gets brought forward to sell off public lands has the Utard contingent seal of approval.

I have had some Ruta Locura carbon stakes for years and they are still going strong. I lived in UT for a couple summers and have visited a dozen times or so. The state has some awesome country for sure but IMO opinion some real odd stuff going on. Something just never felt right to me . Just my experience.

Trust me, I came out here for work lol. I live about 3 miles from the Idaho border and spend most of my time out of state for work. I merely tolerate the weirdness of Utah :D. Logic is in short supply here.

Violent hippie, you are spot on with the weird vibe.

That's an angle I didn't think of. Good for them. I wonder if there are any companies boycotting the Western Hunting expo.

I'm sure there are a lot that would like to, but it's one of the few chances where they get to interact with their target audience. BHA is gonna be there, that should get a rise out of Don Peay and Jason Hairston.

There's a big contingency of outdoor companies and UT residents that are not happy with Chaffitz and his policy making. Black Diamond founder Peter Metcalf spoke up and said the OR Show should leave UT due to Chaffetz, Lee, Bishop and Ivorys stance on the land transfer. The OR show is worth about $45 million in local spending for UT. UT majority typically fall in line and vote the church's party line, but more and more people are getting tired of it. UT high tech business growth continues to bring more and more people from out of state changing the balance of the local population. Chaffitz is having a "town hall" meeting in 2 days...and I expect that there will be a lot of people there..giving him an earful on all this.

i can understand that for smaller companies, but sometimes you have to choose to stand for something even if it is not the smartest move fiscally.

Patagonia has set the stage for the big retailers, and Rota for the cottage industry, we shall see how it goes.

I knew I was going to get a response on that. Not wanting to go down that road too far and ruffle feathers...lets say my $.02's is that "the church" is definitely not against state control of anything.

You didn't ruffle my feathers,I just don't a agree that there is anything single scape goat in utahs political short falls. Is it correct to say Sandy is a Chavez strong hold?

Single scape goat...no..I"m with you on that...but the majority of our red state voters don't tend to stray very far and serious lack of decent opposition makes it tough. I'd say yes Sandy is definitely a Chavez stronghold. I just hope ol Jason still shows up and doesn't do a drive by when he see's all the cars. Maybe he'll show up in camo holding that dog again.....

Black diamond also spoke up about moving the show out of Utah. That's local business taking a stand for public lands.

No question the majority of Utah feels the federal management of lands continues to restrict our use of mass amounts of southern Utah. Voters are just now starting to realize this isn't a quick fix issue and state management would likely result in even more unfavorable out comes

Yet somebody keeps re-electing this republican @$$hole into office. When people stop voting the party line based on one issue maybe something can be done about this.
