When I think of frangible I think of Berger that loses what 50-80% of its weight. I believe Bergers explode where the eId-x sheds its weight in a more controlled fashion as it penetrates. I could be wrong though. have actually never recovered a Berger only tiny pieces of it.

This eld-x was 143gr to start and now weighs 87.5 grains. This was from an adult doe that was shot at 170 yards through the rear femur shattering it and passing through the opposite hind. DRT.

First and foremost, don't overcook it.
Cook slow and moist, in broth or milk.
Or slice thin, marinate, and pan fry.
Or grind and use in sausage/wurst.
+1 for grinding. The heart is high quality meat in my opinion, and if you grind it with 10lb of other meat you will have the same quality of ground venison. Much better option than tossing it. The flavor is comparable to the rest of the deer, but slightly more iron-y.

I also like it fried. Trim it up, soak in buttermilk, pan sear. Not as tender as backstrap necessarily, but still worth eating.
