Hanwag Banks SF vs Lowa Renegade wide

Hello,

I have a pair of Lowa renegade wides and I have always enjoyed them. In recent years the wides do not seem wide enough for my tortilla feet. I have to wear a pair of prescition orthotics and I'm certain that does not help as well. sizing up does not help.

I was looking at the Hanwag Banks SF as a possible replacement.

My questions were:

1. Is the Hanwag SF wider than the renegades?
2. Is Hanwags true to size, or do they run small, etc.

If anyone has experience with either boot or with one, your reply would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

I can't speak to Renegades, but the Hanwag Banks SF Extra are not that wide, maybe wider than a D width. The toe box is pretty much the only one I can tolerate in a hiking style boot. It really does not taper much at the big toe.
I think they run true to size. My foot measures to an 8.5 E, and wear these in a 9. 9 wide is my usual size especially in boots.
Edit: fixed to say 9 wide.

Sorry for the late reply GerGa!

I appreciate your feedback regarding the banks by Hanwag.

Does anyone have any suggestion for a light hiker 6-8 inches that would fit a 4e width foot. At least that's what I wear in sneakers.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!!
