Well you guys have convinced me. There is no real cut off on the performance level of the cartridge. Let's go with the good old Buffalo Bore + P 380. That should be fine.

Had brunch with a friend of mine today who is also a member here. He passed along a story concerning his experience with a 10mm. Seems he walked up to a moose he wounded and planted three into its chest cavity at point blank range. Bullet was a 200 grain Hornady XTP. He told me 10-11 inches penetration into the moose was it. That’s about as real as it gets.
