Hey all just got some hammer HBC bullets was wondering if you guys have tried them and if so any tips for bullet jump and how far you are seating the 2 drive bands into the neck?

Any advice is appreciated thanks!

I’ve shot the 7mm 141 HBC and am currently shooting the 25 cal 107 hob and love them. According to Steve at hammer need to be seated in the middle of the second drive band or right on the shoulder of the bullet. This way it keeps 2 bands in the neck for stability. In my 25 creed it came out to be a 20 thou jump seated to the second drive band. It’s a tack driver. Those bullets to quite a bit of damage for a mono in my opinion.

What cartridge/velocity are you driving the 107s with? I've got a hankering to try some in my 25 Pronghorn.

I just tried them in my 25 saum 21” barrel, 3279fps was the fastest @64gr n565. No pressure, but did not find accuracy. Loaded the second drive band at case mouth, maybe it needs to be a little deeper

Any terminal game results with them yet?

I'm guessing I can get them above 3300 fps from my 20" barrel with the extra case capacity of the WSM. That could be real fun.

I just killed a pig with mine, first kill out of that gun. Very impressed with terminal results. Killed a few pigs and my sheep with the 141’s out of my 7PRC, and several other kills with different weight Hht 7mm bullets. My dad has several kills with the 95 Hht out of a 257 Roberts. I’ve been impressed with them

I took a cow with a 192gr HBC. Stern to stem with a heck of a blood trail for the 10yards she made it. Wouldn’t have tried that shot with a lead core. I’m impressed so far.

I’m likely to work up a 28 Nosler load with the 156gr HBC next. Ballistically, it’s probably the best of the bunch.

Is that seated correctly, the reason I ask is they shot worse than any other hammer I’ve ever loaded
It isn’t wrong. Hammer says two driving bands is all that’s needed. Maybe your gun just didn’t like them. This was my first time trying the HMB. This same rifle didn’t like the 132 HHT and I tried a few different loads to try to make those work.
