I have an opportunity to get a halon 32 for $500 and the bow is in mint condition only used on one hunt. I currently shoot a Prime Alloy and am trying to figure out if I should make the switch or just save my money and get a new bow next year. I hear nothing but good things about the halon 32, but my concern is the weight and I have read they are top heavy.

Just want to hear from current or past Halon 32 owners.

Thanks

I own a Halon 32-5, love the bow, last elk I took was 73 yards with it because I'm so confident with the setup.

Yes it's top heavy in your hand, but when pulled back it's balanced great. If you want a Mathews weight will always be in that 4.4-4.7lb range. That doesn't bug me because it's a dream to shoot on the draw and deadness on the release due to the slight extra weight and the engineering they put into their bows. The Vertix is 4.67lbs per Mathews to give you context. I hate shooting a 3.5lb bow but to each their own.

I have been shooting mine since summer of 2017. I have never felt so confident in a bow than I have with this one. Yes its a bit heavy, but nothing out of the ordinary in my opinion. As far as being top heavy, I don't see that at all. In fact, last year I started hunting without any stabilizers and did not feel like I was sacrificing much, if any accuracy . The bow balances very well at full draw.

It has been a shooter for me and relatively painless to tune to just about any properly spined arrows using the Top Hats.

Pretty much how I feel as well. Except I use a heavy sight way out front and a back stabilizer to balance.

I don’t own one but shot one a few times, one of the smoother drawing bows I’ve ever shot. Did you end up getting it?

I just bought one off AT for 5 bills. Its a Halon 32 6. I'm excited to get it. Just think I'm going from a Ben Pearson Diamondback to a Halon 32. I have not shot or owned any other bow for 15-17 years.

Yes, I ended up getting it and just finished setting it up and paper tuning. I couldn't believe how easy it was to get bullet holes. Only a couple rest adjustments and it was money. I haven't got my sight dialed yet but so far its a dream to shoot.
