Who has successfully recovered their receding hair line or thinning hair? In my early 20's and have noticed my hair line has receded significantly last few years (probably a result of stress and years of graveyard shift). Overall, the hair I do have is relatively thick and full, just a horrible hairline at the moment.

I want to try and bring my hair back with natural or OTC treatments if possible. Anyone have experience with minoxidil? What else worked for you? I'm too young for this BS.

Fly to turkey and get hair transplants.

I have a shitty hairline too but I’m not in my 20s. I figure if I ever start getting a bald spot and my peninsula starts turning into an island I’ll just do the shaved head thing. Why fight it.

I currently am on an oral min/fin combo pill. I've used the topical minoxidil in the past with the oral fin and it did maintain and help improve my hairline. My biggest problem was being consistent with it. As for sides, those have been pretty minimal, but everyone is different for that.

Assuming you can get it OTC/prescribed, I'd recommend giving those a go for 6-12 months before getting a hair transplant. Transplants require that you take min/fin after anyways keep what you have.

The sooner you can start the better though, so keep that in mind.

It hurts to say goodbye. On the bright side you’ll save a couple hundred a yr on haircuts

As my hair receded and got thin in the back ( all family traits) this was my answer. I can see why the OP wants to find solution at his age. One thing about the buzz cut is my hats fit great and I don't look like I got shot out of a cannon in the morning at deer camp. Easy to keep my head clean as well.

I found in my late 20s I wasn't loosing my hair so much it was just relocating to my back. Been shaving my head for last 20ish years. I think our wedding photo, '04, was the last photo I have without a shaved head.

Nut up and shave it. It’s HAIR. To hell with the vanity, accept the inevitable and shave that shit off. It’s far more liberating than you realize. I started going gray at 23 and bald at 27. Chopping it off and getting on with my life was the best decision I could have made for my self image at the time.

Just shave your pubes, glue them up there and spend the rest of your cash on hunting gear.

I'll be around all day if you need more life advice.

Have you considered the beard comb over?

My hairline started receding like crazy in my late 20s early 30s, I figured I would be bald soon. But then it just quit, and at 63, I still have a pretty decent head of hair albeit totally silver with a pretty high forehead.
For me, I think what has helped a lot, is that I hardly ever wear a cap/hat anymore. I've gotten to where I really dislike the feel of a ball cap on my head. I think having your hair inside a cap almost 16/7 for most of your life, does your hair no good. I really don't' spend a lot of time worrying about my hair either. When it starts getting a little long, I pull out the clippers and buzz it all off to about a 1/2" and start the cycle over. I haven't paid for a haircut in probably 30+ years.
