Used in a 20”, 1:8, Tikka 243, 108gr. ELD-M, Starline LRP, CCI 200.

Think it’s too slow for a 20” with a lot of unburned powder, high ES, accuracy?

Worth trying or try something else?

I have been loading 44 grains of H4831sc and only averaging 2700 fps but accuracy is good out to 400 yards. If I increase the charge by much I start to see pressure signs and accuracy goes down hill.

I’ll give H1000 a try and maybe it will give me a little more fps and still be as accurate.

I’ve been using H1000 47.5gr with a 108eldm and as others have praised, picked more velocity and more consistent groups than H4350. Not that H4350 was bad by any means.

Not as slow as H1000 but we just started playing with Superformance for my sons 243 with a 18” bbl. Getting 3,230 fps with an 80 gr TTSX, 48.0 grains (Barnes max is 48.6 I think). I know a guy that really know his stuff says he’s not had good luck with Superformance, but so far it’s not been bad. We were loading 90 gr cup and core bullets with StaBall last year.

I wouldn’t mess with H1000 - it’ll work but it’s slow for shorter barrels. I would think you’d need 24 at least to take advantage of H1000. Go H4350. I get accuracy and speed from it in 243
