Guys that drive a long ways to hunt, what are your less common(but important) pieces of gear/tools you're sure to keep in the truck?

You don’t want to use them with a winch, but for vehicle to vehicle recoveries these things are a game changer. Significantly increases your vehicles pulling ability, and is way gentler on your vehicle due to no sudden shock. They can be dangerous, and need to be used responsibly. But I’ve been seriously impressed with the couple that I have bought and used for winter recovery.
Just be careful with those bungee ropes, they work incredibly well but don't hook them to a drop hitch or something that can fling back at the other vehicle.

Me in Wyoming this October. I actually had my Stihl in the truck, but it was more of a hassle to bust it out than to use the KB. These saws punch way above their weight class.

I keep one in my pack with the dirtbike. It does very good!

Last weekend I cut one outta the way that used all of a 28" bar. I slabbed off rounds that were easy enough to roll outta the way. I am not using a handsaw for that kinda stuff
