How hot is it where you hunt? mid 90's today here in ID and it seems crazy to start hiking up a mountain with all my gear, need some motivation!

Set a few cameras today. 92° and 2 rattlers later I’m back at the truck.

Highs will be around mid 80's in the shade at the start of my hunt on 9/13 (C. ARIZONA).

I'm legit going to lose 30+ pounds on this hunt if it goes the full 14 days (hopefully not).

Last time I went into this same area for a late archery hunt I hiked 10 miles before lunch. Laid down for a nap and my legs cramped so bad I couldn't get to my feet for an honest 35 minutes. I was in agony. So yayyyy.

Out here you kinda get used to the heat, I was on a Rifle Deer hunt a few years ago in Late Oct and the temps where 105, It makes you think twice about drinking beer at camp lol.

In Northern NM is been hot and dry lately, highs in the mid to upper 80's. The grass is tall this year, drying out abit, but there is water pretty much everywhere still, especially up in higher elevations. Should start cooling off here quickly though

Southern NM usually see upper 80’s to 90’s regularly, second hunt is a little cooler. Usually rains every day so that cools things off but if it doesn’t for a few days it gets warm quick

I don’t know how you guys do it. I have no desire to deal with meat until highs are no more than half that. Guess we’re lucky to have seasons that allow for the choice here. I don’t start thinking about elk until I’ve scraped my windshield 4-5 days in a row.
