That swingblade looks nice. I carry a havalon but like a back up. I actually prefer to skin with a regular knife as I knick the meat a lot with a new havalon blade. I also go gutless and I feel like I am making way to many cuts skinning. That is where the interest in a hook came in. I feel it would be faster and leave less hair. I think the swing blade will be my next knife purchase.

Never used one until a few years ago, issued one aka seatbelt cutter last deployment, figured since I had one for free I'd give it a try. Loved it keep one on the pack always for hunting here at home where we have to drag our deer out and check in intact, no quartering here in New England. I was issued a Gerber, but now carry and use a Buck paclite in orange. Got tired of almost loosing the Gerber every time I set it down during a gut job.
