Edit: someone answered my question. I was give inaccurate info.
Thanks theringworm.

I will say I know they’re not all Christmas trees but they are mostly cluttered for old eyes. It’s not inaccurate that they won’t touch a scope you didn’t buy from them them and that’s a deal breaker. They offer about 5 scopes total right now

1 post and it’s riddled with errors and inaccuracies. What’s your motive? Advertising for Alterra? Fairly negative advertisement even if you aren’t associated with Alterra.

Gunwerks doesn’t use a single FFP scope that has a true “Christmas tree“ reticle. Yes they are all FFP but all reticles used are a simple cross hair reticle with graduated hash marks. Their Revic PMR does have some broader markings out from the original crosshair, but still not a Christmas tree. Look at an AMR, SKMR4 or Tremor reticle, those are Christmas tree reticles.

I have toured their facility. I guess all of the CNC machines cutting out their actions, rifle parts are just for show. They do buy Proof barrels but assemble the rifle in house. Carbon layup and rifle stock builds also in house. The only rifle they might collaborate on with smiths outside of the facility would be their limited run Skunkworks projects. You sir are poorly misinformed.

Sounds like your wealthy Father in law needs an off the shelf Savage and a Burris.

I hate joining forums. People are always dicks. **** off man. It’s an honest question, I’m a good normal person and every forum people just release their childhood trauma on people

My apologies, but by the way you started your post off it came across as you had an axe to grind and were throwing shade. And usually the “1 post” crowd fits the build. If you aren’t/weren’t then I truly apologize.

Gunwerks just built a massive new manufacturing facility in Cody , WY. You can find Youtube videos about it online if you wish. 5-6 years or later they were sourcing several pieces to build up their systems from what I recall but we’re still assembling it all in house. My tour was 5-6 years ago when they were at their old place. Yes, everything was being made and assembled in house. As of today, short of using Proof barrels I believe it is all made and assembled in house under the roof of their facility. (Aside from MAYBE the Skunkworks builds that I alluded to before). They have one purpose, that’s to build a long range rifle that someone with no real knowledge of long range shooting can go out and shoot long range, Hence the reason all of their scopes are FFP scopes that they can have customized turrets added on to that match their ammo ballistics. It’s a one stop shop. I owned a 7LRM from them years ago when I was knew to really learning about bullet ballistics and long range shooting. Once I became more educated about it all I for a reputable smith to build a rifle up just like I wanted it. I picked my own scope and now do all of my own reloading. It’s a cheaper solution than Gunwerks but is labor intensive. They cater to the folks that don’t have or don’t want to spend the time to learn. And there is nothing wrong with that. Some like reloading and tinkering and others just want to go shoot. Nothing negative to say about them at all.

once again, my apologies if your question was genuine. You can’t interpret the true intent of someone’s text unfortunately. Best of luck with your Alterras. If he is that rich he just buy a Gunwerks also and give to you if he hates it.

Yeah you’re right, gunwerks is specifically for people who want to shoot a grand out of the box with no experience or commitment. My father in law won’t shoot over 500
