Gunsmith Recommendation for Barrel Change

Where I live in Florida there are not any real gunsmiths around anymore. Just guys who build ARs and other tacticool stuff.

Does anyone have a recommendation for someone who can rebarrel my CA Ridgeline with a shorter, Proof barrel? I would ship it to them so location not important.

I use Chad Dixon out of Sturgis SD. His shop is Long Rifles Inc. He's been building my guns for 15+ years. Quick google search will tell you who he is and the quality he produces.

I had him cut down and thread a barrel for me recently. He builds custom guns for him and his son to shoot in PRS matches and everything is top notch craftsmanship at very reasonable prices.

Alex, Greg, and Travis Stevens at TS customs are all good. I mostly use a guy that runs a small shop in MO and he is also very good. His name is Isaiah Curtis of Curtis Custom Weapons. There are tons of small hole in the wall shops that have insanely good gunsmiths. Gun plumbing is not complicated. You need someone with the right tools and the little bit of knowledge and experience that it takes that is an obsessed perfectionist. Send them a really good barrel blank and they will turn your gun into a laser beam. A concentric chamber, good reamer design, and a really good barrel blank will make a gun shoot just about any load from good components well.

Mike Manzella is a good dude with pretty good turn around times and does good work. He’s in MT. Karl feldkamp is a heck of a nice guy and more than capable too but I’d probably send to Manzella first.

Holy cats, he is back in FL? Last I looked he went to Florida and then moved back to MT. Three moves between Florida and MT with a business like that sounds like quite the headache!
