Anyone have a good gunsmith to recommend in the Denver area? I've tried a few and had trouble finding someone with attention to detail and a good communicator. Thanks.

I used Dave Sullivan in Erie for an action truing and rebarrel, I am pleased with the work. Lead time was long (as stated up front), I found it best if you give him a call periodically to check in though versus waiting to hear. So the latter aspect might not suit you if you want proactive status updates.

Second this. For older firearms and refinishing I have a name on a business card at home. He refinished my dad's Interarms Mark X .270 and did an amazing job. For newer firearms I've had good luck with TJs out in Aurora but I've only had a few minor things done.

Very true. I don't think I'd send a small job to Dave I noted above, not that I doubt he'd do a good job, I just wouldn't want to wait in his que that long for something small. I was having him face off a Tikka M695 (which he had experience with) and install a Obermeyer 5R barrel (the guy who developed 5R rifling) with an oversized remington style recoil lug and Dave happened to have apprenticed under Obermeyer (in addition to being a high power rifle competitor, presumable shooting his own work) so it seemed like a good match for the work I needed.
