In 1994 there were a number of gun control measures implemented under the Clinton Administration. It provided several years worth of data to determine if restrictions on our gun rights actually reduces mass shootings, gun violence or crime. The current administration has been referencing those same measures fondly with the goal of reimplementing many of those same laws.
I try to read several newspapers a day and will often write to journalists regarding their articles or simply write a Letter to the Editor in an effort to bring facts into the discussion, instead of simply accepting the narrative as being true.
I am sure there are people on this forum that hunt but also support gun control measures because they think they are effective in reducing gun violence or will prevent mass shootings. Historical data indicates that they don't.
I have included an article that discusses this issue and what the data indicates and hopefully people that have been misinformed will find it enlightening.
"There seems to be no relationship between these gun control measures and reductions in firearm homicide or suicide, and there doesn’t appear to be any clear evidence they reduce mass shootings.”
