Gun Case

Looking at building a soft sided gun case. Probably rectangular. Nothing fancy. Just needs good padding. Brainstorming a no zipper option. Anyone made one before?

Sewing experience? Type of machine you have access to? I follow marsupial gear on instagram and they have been developing their soft sided gun case. They have shared a few pics and videos of some of the process i believe.

Without sewing experience and a walking foot machine, id say buy a case.

Having both, im interested in making one as well. The zipper is not expensive or difficult, and very useful. Lacking experience, no zipper is indeed simpler. It is sewing through thicker foam that will be the issue if you do not have an industrial machine with sufficient foot lift and a walking needle to keep it all moving along.

I have some experience. Have made a few pockets, bags and tarps. I was thinking of not seeing through the foam padding, just sandwich it between fabric layers.

I wrapped mine in a Woobie and tied it with paracord. Blanket served double duty.
