Grizzly attacks students

This might be one of the first documented accounts of a grizzly attacking a group that large. Unbelievable.

Wow, that’s so rare I can’t ever remember something like that effecting so many people. Glad to hear everyone lived. Hopefully they see it as one of nature’s challenges and it doesn’t keep anyone from enjoying the outdoors going forward.

Most likely this group was spread out on the trail, some ahead, some lagging behind. I believed this happened to a group of Boy Scouts in Alaska that were spread out some hundred yards.
 
That place has a very high population of bears, always has. BC stopped all hunting of course some years ago, but that does not stop first nations from hunting them, so will be interesting what take they have on dealing with the issue. Some nations in BC are taking a proactive approach to killing bears to keep the moose and caribou numbers up, but they do not get CBC news coverage of course.
