This thread has some of the hottest takes I've ever read.

Tongues cut off or stuffed back into the mouth, for me. YMMV.

No easier way to ruin a great picture than by having the tongue hanging out of the mouth. You took time to plan the hunt, time off work to go on the hunt, and a bunch of dough on gear, so why in the Wide World of Sports wouldn't you take the time to snap quality photos? If you're cool with a photo album full of a bunch of pictures that look straight out of Escanaba In Da' Moonlight, more power to you.

I have an easier method. I don't take pictures. I hunt for myself and that's how I was brought up.

No objection for others doing it. It's just not for me.

It's definitely a trophy elk, and something to be proud of.

What's to be more proud of, not missing seconds for every meal of your life, or killing an elk in a pen?

I personally started packing this in my kill kit.

Sometimes I kill an animal and it is muddy or dirty. I would never mount a dirty animal so would you all please make sure you use a good shampoo and conditioner on the hide before you take pictures!
