Late October Buck

This one was looking for a fight, came in fast after I gave him a snort wheeze.

We had a pretty good year....
IMG_3623_zps4caec915.jpg

this is my rifle deer (first year I have deer hunted with a gun in about 8 years).... stalked him in a corn field. Had him at 20 yards but couldn't get a shot (had by bow with me for back-up ( : ) The doe he was with spotted me and they took off. I was able to find him a bit later and put him down with the rifle.....

This is my wife's first deer with her bow!! She stalked to 26 yards and dropped the string!!! The deer went 60 yards and went down. I got to watch the whole thing from 200 yards away!!

Finally this is my archery buck. I only had 3 days to hunt a new area I wanted to try. I hiked about 26 miles in 2 1/2 days. Connected with this guy the last night. Made the mistake of leaving him over night and coyotes got to him ) : It was a fun Bonsai trip.... slept in my back seat in single digit temps.... Hard work pays off!!!

Late Season SD Archery

Here is my late season SD whitetail. I contentrated on the deer movement from bedding to feeding areas and buck tending the does during the 2nd round of the rut roughly one month after the peak of the November rut. It paid off as I was able to stalk into range on this mature buck!
