Gray Wolf Woolens XL Tall Jacket, Coat, Pants, Predator Fall Gray. This set was custom made for me several years ago, the cost then was over $1,000 and it has barely been worn. I bought it for a late season mule deer hunt, but it came too late to be used for that hunt and I’ve only done one late season hunt since. I’m an active, spot and stalk western hunter, I normally hunt early season and I just haven’t had a use for this set. As a stand-alone piece, the Wolf Skin liner jacket is great for early fall hunts. Combined the set is well suited for late season whitetail or extremely cold active hunts.
The wool shell and wool pants were only worn for two days during a late season Montana moose hunt in 2015. The Wolfskin jacket, which is also lined, was worn more often and is still in very good shape.
I’m 6’6”, 235 pounds with a 38” waist, 37” inseam, 46” chest, 17.5” neck and 37” sleeves. The pants should fit someone with a waist from 36” to 40” while the jacket should fit someone with a chest between 44” to 50”. The pants are labeled size XL, while the wool coat is labeled size XXL. Ideal sizing in in the middle of the ranges listed.
Here are the features of each:
Wolfskin Liner Jacket is lined and has compression straps on the left sleeve for archery hunters. It’s a good stand-alone jacket for cool but not frigid temperatures. It zips into the outer coat. It’s been worn and used a few times but is in very good condition.
Wool Outer Coat - Unlined. When used in conjunction with the zip in liner jacket, this creates and extremely warm coat for late season cold weather hunts. The coat also has compression straps for the archery hunter
Wool Pants - Inseam is 36.5”. Lined with a heavy fleece. These pants have side zippers to the knees and snaps around the cuffs. These pants are extremely warm and heavy and perfect for late season hunts.
Boonie Hat - I’ve got a 7 5/8 head and the hat should fit a size or two up or down. It has a snap on removable top for warmer days. Other than being tried on the hat has never been worn in the field.
