Hey guys had a couple questions if anyone would be willing to give me a little insight, i dont expect any hotspots but just general info abput the range. I was out in august for a week and spent sone time there looked like the area has some real potential. Do any of you guys archery hunt this area early sept i know its early and they are still probably pretty high? Thanks for any input you guus have.

It's a good area - provided you get off the roads. Access is fairly easy so a lot of traffic. The Gravely Ridge Road does just like it says - runs the entire ridge from North to South. Everyone knows about it. Archery season is definitely better than Rifle season - think pumpkin patch. Go toward the southern end of the range and dive off the roads as far as you can. Caution - the further South you go, the more griz you're going to find. Go prepared and use the appropriate precautions. Lot's of good elk country though.

Hunted out there a few years ago. Trucks parked along the road almost every half mile and a lot of bears. So many roads it is hard to get away from people in some areas but beautiful country.

Tough to get away from people/atv's unless you are on ponies. Easy for road hunting though haha
