Got an email today from Grakksaw showing their Backcountry boot dryer is on sale for $35.

What is the time reduction for drying vs just air drying in a non-hot tent for anyone who has used these...

If not none, close to none. Warm, dry air is the magic in the beans.

I would not use it without a fire nearby.

Caveat being that if you’re road hunting and the truck heater is running full tilt going spot to spot, they speed up the process a ton.

I find this a bit hard to believe…? Moving air (even if cold) into and out of a boot should significantly help reduce the dry time wouldn’t it?

Yeah technically but if you’re in a 20 degree tent for 6 hours to sleep, changing the time to dry from 24 hours to 17 hours isn’t doing anything in real life.

it's kind of the same as having your boots sitting on the ground in the tent vs hanging them up in the peak with a stove.
ya, they'll dry on the ground but, they'll dry in ¼ the time up in the peak even without the dryers. the dryers speed it up even more.
plus, who doesn't prefer warm boots in the morning!
