Since in Nevada there's a 7 year bull draw wait, and I'm 58, I figured this might be my one chance so I went all out. Up at 2:00 a.m., hit the trailhead by 4:30. Shot at 7:20 a.m. Took 3 days to pack out - 2 of us. 3.5 miles from trailhead. Great feeling.

Great bull! Congratulations! I turn 58 in February and have never hunted elk, so I better get busy!

People never think 3.5 miles is that far...until they pack out an elk.

Mine this year was the easiest pack out...half mile, 9 minutes each way. Even. That still took 3.5 hours to quarter, pack, and get to the road.
