So just got my pack in the other week but since I’ve been up in Alaska working this is the first night home and playing with it. I love the pack and its layout, but unfortunately I don’t think this pack is going to fit my body type. I’ve been tinkering with it for the last 1.5 hours and nothing seems to get it right. I’ve been a backpacker for the last 20 years so fitting packs is nothing new to me. I do have a curvy back and this is why I chose to go with the X-Curve, but the curves in the frame don’t really align with the curves of my back, making it feel odd. Have any of you had this same problem and found a way to fix it? I may take some photos with it on and see if I can’t get some suggestions. I really want to make this pack work cause it’s really cool and exactly what I’m looking for, but if it doesn’t fit then it doesn’t fit.

If you have the shoulders about perfect give the lumbar pad a slight adjustment. That’s what the guy at 1shot gear did for me. It felt off initially but it’s amazing what a 1/4 inch did. Also I didn’t have to but you might try changing around the blocks in the lumbar pad too.

I had to sell mine since it didn’t fit me perfectly. It fit alright, but it was the hip belt for me that wasn’t as comfortable.

Had a really tough time letting it go because it looked SO GOOD! Haha. Unfortunately just because it looks sweet doesn’t mean it’s going to help while packing out an animal.

Do what you can, but don’t be afraid to trade it for something that fits.

I ordered both the krux evo and the xcurve. Wore both for couple weeks and never could get the xcurve to fit well. But the krux was dynamite on me. I thought I had a curved back before doing the comparison, now not so sure.

So, I am having this exact same issue as well. I previously used a Krux and a Sky 5100 for several years. I upgraded to the X-Curve and Sky 5900 this year. I have been on 4 training hikes with 50-75 lbs in the pack. I cannot seem to get the same comfortable fit that I had with the old pack. The curve seems way off compared to my back. While the lumbar pad fits nicely, directly above that I can stick my hand between the pack and my back. The load also feels like it is pulling away from my upper back. I will try some more adjusting of course, but I have already messed with it quite a bit. May have to give the Krux Evo a try instead.
For your info, I am 5'6 140 lbs, Small/Medium belt.

Yes I had the same problem with not only the x-curve, but seek outsides revolution frame as well. The x-curve is worse though. They are designed for a longer torso. Im 5'8 with a short torso and the curvature is way too high for me causing the first bend to dig into my middle back and pushing the upper frame away from my shoulders. There is nothing you can do about it. Kifarus composite stays for my back well, but there designs have too many other short comings that I couldn't get over. I have a curvy back, but SGs Evo frame works well for me. Having a curvy back doesn't mean straight stays won't work. It just won't distribute the weight as well especially on the upper portion of the back. Another option is Exo if you want curved stays. Their frame shape fits my body shape the best out of all the big companies. So there are definitely options if the x-curve doesn't fit, but adjusting it if the curvature isn't right will never work.

If you have old arrows laying around you could cut them to length and pull the curved stays out and put two arrows in per side. I'm not saying this a permanent fix but you could use it to see if a flat stay is more comfortable for you without costing any money.

Spoke with Stone Glacier and as always are making it super easy to figure out a solution or move to another frame in their line up.

Maybe look into the Evo Krux frame. For people that have more curvature to their back find the Krux a better fitting pack. Usually you can adjust the shoulder straps for it to sit correctly on the back, but if you have already done that I am not quite sure what will work. The lumbar support is supposed to sit on the middle of your back. That being said maybe see if you could try on the Krux instead. Everyone is different that's why there is so many companies.

I am in the process of weighing options from SG, and need a little help on deciding frames. What entails a "curved back"? I was set on the x-curve, but am also curious about the R3, and the Krux. Which frame in the line up is setup for which type of torso? I am 5'10, 180lbs with a 33" waist.

I would suggest just buying both the Xcurve and the EVO, with medium belts, with the intent of sending back the one that doesn’t work for you. Or, if neither work, send both back. You’ll be out the shipping cost but at least you’ll know.

I am the exact same size as you and bought both frames as stated do that if possible. I went krux medium but they are awesome to allow us to try both.

Is the R3 just completely out of the equation? I have seen little to no feedback on that frame and I am just curious what makes it so obsolete. I really wish I could try all 3, but will most likely be trying the EVO and Xcurve for certain. Its hard for me to understand what exactly equates to a "curved" back as opposed to flat. I see a lot of guys who thought they had a curved back, complaining that the Xcurve didn't fit them right.

Appreciate the feedback
