GoPro Hero 8 or some other camera?

I’ve never done any videoing or photography other than just with my iPhone. I’d like to get a camera to start recording some things. I have a tuna fishing trip coming up this month that I’d like to get video of. I’m going to be taking some trips on my Harley as well and I’d like to be able to record while riding with the camera on my bars or my helmet at times. I’d like this camera to be waterproof, or able to be put into a waterproof case so I can stick it underwater while fishing. I do not want to spend a lot of money on this because im still not sure how much I will use it. So my question is, other than a GoPro Hero 7 or 8, are there any other cameras/brands in this price range that might be better?

Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

There's another thread like 3 below this one for body cams with a link to Amazon and Akaso cams. They're between 50 and 150 bucks. Tons of good reviews and it's easier to drop $80 on one of those than big money on a GoPro. All of those cameras have their limitations.

Is this the same camera? It appears to be. I’ve bought from you before and would love to again. This camera seems to be a viable option with good reviews, but $70, is $70.

Same camera. Buy it quick as Olympus is cutting them off if they don't go back to $349.00 by end of day. Someone there made a mistake on the black one as the red one, more popular too , is $349.00

They did bring the price up to $349.00, and we will do it for anyone here for $319.99 through the end of this month. Olympus tells me that the rebate gets cut to $70 from $100 for August

GoPro's are great quality for a First Person type of viewing i think!

We just got a go pro 8 package for300 bucks. It's really easy to use. Gives good video as well. No zoom though
