Goodbye Kana ... the BEST girl

One of the hardest things we will ever have to face is losing our Furry Companions.
Been there too many times to count, so I well understand where you are coming from.

It sounds like She had a wonderful life with you and your Family.
That is indeed something to look back fondly on as you recall all those cherished memories..

I too am once again nearing that time yet again.
Kimmiq, our 1/2 Wolf / 1/2 Husky Hybrid is now 14 years and 9 months.
Been living with these Hybrids well over 40 years, and never had one make 12 before.
I fear the day... But I also understand that part of our commitment to them is to do what is right when that dreaded moment comes along.

My heart goes out to you and yours.
I hope the tale of the Rainbow Bridge rings true, and those we miss will be waiting for us on the other side.

Sorry to hear it man. It’s the worst feeling on earth. I had to put my pooch down last week and it crushed me. The only hound I have ever seen retrieve ducks and pheasant. He was one of a kind.

I feel for u brother. Lost my wife of 23 years September of last year to cancer and my Pudlepointer is one of the reasons I have made through the year since. Great hunter and incredible companion, always there for me. I will be heartbroken when she gets called up to see my wife, but I know they will both be waiting for me when it is my turn.

Challenge anyone who has loved a dog to get through “ Tears and Laughter “ by the late, great Gene Hill with dry eyes. Because of him and his writing, to this day I won’t read dog stories. Absolutely phenomenal writer.

I'm so sorry to hear that. God bless you

Just throwing in a plug for rescues, guys. I know this is a hunting and shooting web site, so understandably most dogs here are hunting and sporting dogs. Having said that, if you’re ever just looking for a companion, give some thought to saving a life from a shelter or rescue. So many wonderful dogs out there with tons of love to give to you and yours.

Those are the hardest of days. I just recovered and got another dog 2 years ago after putting mine down 7 years ago. I feel for ya, my guy. Hang in there. Smile and cry, repeat.
