(*and sorry for the crap sound. This is what happens when I can't record in the sound booth. Definitely trying to not make that mistake again, just didn't want to miss the chance to record with the Averys)

They shorted you in the flair department.

Is there a plan for tracking zero with that scope?
I’m not much of a flare guy. I like black.

I don’t even know what “zero tracking “ really means to be honest.

I’m just using the hashmarks for right now. I’ll get to the dialing later.

Nothing to do with dialing or holdovers; just documenting or keeping track that once you have zeroed the scope/rifle at 100 yards (or whatever you zero at), it retains that zero going forward. @Justin Crossley has a good thread going, encouraging people to keep track of their zero. https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/scope-zero-check-thread.386182/

The Swarovski on top is a surprise to me.

OK I see what you’re asking. I’ve been shooting a Swaro since 2022 so three seasons and I have not lost zero and I do occasionally drop my gun. I’ll check that thread out.

* edit, two seasons, haven’t checked the zero after last year.

Oh no! Say it ain’t so! 🤣 I don’t think I could ever give up my 270wsm or shooting with hashmarks. You’ve officially gone to the dark side now.

How do you like it for standing, kneeling and fast shots? Or maybe you haven't gotten there yet.
I have about 30 rounds through it, 10 of those from standing/off-hand shots at water jugs. With the negative comb it does shoulder too low for an immediate sight picture but it only took a few trys to get it right. This means I'm only putting the bottom half of the butt-pad on my shoulder but with the light recoil it's not an issue. I'll get used to it. Haven't shot kneeling but will get to that.

Is that a 3, 10, or 30 round check🫣. Asking for a friend….. From everything I’ve read on the slide I think you’ll love the 6UM

Would higher scope rings mitigate the sight picture issue?

hey, I thought about this and it's going to come down to a trade off. Ryan sent it with Tikka UM, mediums. It's perfect for shooting prone. I did the rough math and I'm only shooting 20% of my bucks off hand, so 80% I'm braced or prone so to go to a higher scope mount would only be a benefit 20% of the time.

the 6UM, with the suppresor, is such a light recoil, it's nothing not to have the full butt pad against my shoulder.

If that was my unbraked 270WSM or my ol' unbraked 7mag, this would be hospital territory shouldering a gun like that--meaning I'd probably cut my brow (don't ask me how I know lol)

I'm just gonna keep shooting it. I'm almost used to it already, Good question man
