Good price for ammo?

Ammo prices are crazy nowadays but I don't know if $17.99 for a box of 50 9mm fmj 124 grain ammo is a deal

This is in the wrong section as it doesn't have anything to do with reloading.

However, No, that's not a good price. In fact it's a terrible price. Our local gun shop has Norma 124 grain 9mm brass cased ammo for $10.99 a box right now and Remington 124 grain for $11.99 a box. There is always $10.99 9mm there, but the brand on sale rotates each month. Sometimes it Blazer Brass, Winchester, Magtech, etc.

Online you can buy 9mm buy the case in the $250 range shipped pretty often. Which would come out to $12.50 a box.

Have been buying norma 124gr fmj's for $10/box and 124gr jhp for $14-$16 locally.

If they have it around 10-12 bucks for wad type target ammo - its pretty good these days. Covid I would have said buy anything you can get but now, a store I found in my travels looks like this

I'm not overly impressed with BS ammo prices, yes, they have a lot. But unless you need it right then. You can buy it cheaper online.
