Getting my butt kicked. So far, only glassed up a couple does and more hunters than deer.

I did find 100ish head of elk, which was guaranteed to happen since I don't have an elk tag. Based on what I'm seeing in the spotter, the herd bull is awfully concerned about his ladies, chasing them around and making sure none of them get too far away. He's one cow call and/or challenge bugle away from coming in on a string. Hope someone kills him, because he's a dandy.

Watching those elk through your spotter is no way to find your buck. :D (he says after wasting hours doing the exact same thing on past mule deer hunts. LOL)

Anyone having any luck? We’re headed home after a brutal(our favorite word for the week) week of hunting. Only found 1 deer sub alpine. Ended up finding a few low, I actually hit a branch shooting at a decent buck. But man, not what we hoped for. Wondered how everyone else was fairing? Bucks high in your units?

Had him at 23. Got impatient and tried to press my luck. I've never seen a deer move like he did when he realized I was there. He went from laying down to full sprint in an instant.

I came close to such agility back in high school when my girlfriend's dad came home early.

Update: was going on a death march to head off some monster bucks this morning. As I was a third of the way there, I stumbled across a forky at 40 yards. He did his best impression of a 3-D target and just stood broadside for me.

I sent it. He ran 15 yards and collapsed. Back of the lungs/liver.

I think someone upstairs was tired of watching me eat tag soup the last two seasons and gave me a lay up.
