Swfa 3-9 would fit the bill, looks about like a duplex reticle on 3 power which should serve you well on a close, quick shot as well as handling all the other tasks you are looking for it to do

Yes 10X is plenty even out to 1000 yards.
The questions is…is 10X too much for closer shots?

So I am trying to find a hunting scope that is sub 22oz with exposed turrets and good out to 400-500 yards. I purchased and am going to return a Trijicon credo hx because the reticle is too fine for me. I am right handed and cross eyed dominant so the reticle is a no go unfortunately. I was looking at the leupold box-5hd but read on some issues. Same with the zeiss conquest v4.

Before people comment and tell me to get a heavier Trijicon or a night force, I have already explored those options and I’m not willing to go the extra weight especially on a rifle that is already 7ish pounds and going to be used for backcountry hunts. Not trying to be rude just want some other options besides just going heavier. I know some people say it’s worth it but I’m already not a large guy so weight savings is very important.

Appreciate it!

Edit:
I should probably also add that I’d like to have a ballistic drop reticle as well just in case quick shots are required and second focal plane for close shots since I’ll be hunting in various areas
I bought the same Credo and the reticle was wayy too fine for me as well. I returned it.

I had the regular Credo in 3-9x40 with the Pricision Hunter reticle and it was thick enough for my goofy right eye after a few injuries.
What did you get instead. I think imma go with a zeiss conquest v4
Throw my vote in for that NF mentioned above, think it's a great option.

The reason I kinda wanna go with the conquest v4 is because I can get a from one for like 1k and I’ve heard their tracking is better than leupold. Hard to beat for the price

I'd look at the Leupold VX3HD line - 1 in tube, 40 or 50mm objective depending on how much weight matters for you, locking elevation turret and the 4.5-14x50 is like 19 oz - 3.5-10x50 is like 17 oz so well within your weight range.
