Looking for a good base layer, would like merino for scent. My problem is I like it to be basically skin tight so it doesn’t feel like a layer as much. Just preference after using ua for the last 15 years. I tried minus 33 and another and they seem very baggy and loose which wanted to bunch up. Is that just the way merino baselayers are suppose to be? I am fairly thin, 6’3” and 180lbs so it has to be long enough and thin enough. Any recommendations? I wanted to try some first lite but every piece was sold out for the last 6 months. And the new ones seem to only be 3/4 length which I don’t want. Looking for around a 250 weight

i know its not merino but the Badlands Latitude base layers will make you feel like your in an 80-s workout video if your looking for cling to body form.

Look at the Under Armor Ridge Reaper base. Not wool but antimicrobial treated.

The top is extra long in all sizes and they fit snug. Order your normal size.

For the heavier weight base layers, I use smartwool midweight top and bottoms (250 weight). Fit is great as durability is on par with the first lite pieces I have. You can find them on sale all the time if you keep an eye out.

I use Cold Pruf thermals, they are light and work amazingly well. They also have a variety of weights available. They are not very expensive and they work almost too well.

Sitka just came out with their new Merino base layers for 2018. It is a little thinner than the older models and in my opinion they are way more comfortable. The older models made my skin crawl and I could never wear them. For this year they changed the stitching in them and now its like wearing PJ's. I honestly would look into these and they fit pretty true to size.

I have the Smartwool bottoms as well and think they are great. However, they are not as tight fitting as a synthetic (I also own UA) so if that is a priority, synthetic may be the way to go.
