Nothing I can find so far indicates that he died as a result of drug use. Antidepressants, painkillers & THC. I've got more than that rattling around in me right now & I haven't taken anything illicit in 20 years.

He was one of the few living musicians I really admired.

I saw somewhere that he had an enlarged heart and was complaining of chest pain. I dealt with two opiate overdoses this week and neither complained of anything.

His heart was twice the normal size for a man his age, 600 grams. Normal is around 300-350 grams. The Mirror, reported, investigators have concluded the 50 year old had suffered cardiovascular collapse after bringing on a cocktail of drugs. The Mirror got their information from Colombian news magazine Semana. It also said authorities had confirmed to them the famed musician had overdosed on heroin mixed with antidepressants and benzodiazepines. I get the impression, it was the combination of drugs that caused the issue, not any single drug. Don't shoot the messenger, just reporting what I read. I was looking for causes of enlarged heart, and the story came up.

All I was saying was the initial facts weren’t a dead ringer for an overdose. Trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

Major difference between pity and respect.

Simply stating something to the effect of "its too bad he couldn't kick is drug addiction and in the end it cost him his life" would have be far more impactful than what you said.

I don't think anyone is surprised the drummer of the worlds biggest rock band was into drugs. They had spoken openly about his fight with them. Unfortunately this is the result.
It is still sad to see him go.
