I've learned a lot watching sheep hunting videos, the stalk, the shot, action after the shot, conversations of full curl, etc. Seems to be a ton of sheep hunting videos, not so many for goats. Anyone have a favorite or two they can point me to?

Thanks!

I enjoy the narratives if well done, but also appreciate a well filmed kill shot. Lots to learn about how an animal reacts and provides the ability to think about what I may or may not have done differently. Appreciate the link, I take a look.

I've found goats much easier to stalk/hunt. Sheep are much more jittery and wary and can blow out of the country without any notice and cover huge amounts of country even when not spooked. All goats I've spent time hunting are much more stationary. That is why Im always searching for sheep vids because i find them more difficult to stalk, but id never pass up a good hunting vid for any AK animal :)

I would say that is true of nearly all the goats I've hunted but this past spring goat hunt. Most of the time if you they are above you and you stay outside of their 400-500 yard buffer zone they aren't too alarmed. Last month I found the group we were targeting would bug out over the ridge if they saw you at over 1/2 mile away and will above us. Had to change our tactics to hunting them like sheep and staying out of sight. But by and large I agree with ya.

As for a video the videos by Mike Collins out of Cordova (Greatland productions I think makes them) are pretty entertaining and I enjoy watching them and they shoot a few goats as well as quite a few other great Alaskan hunts on film.

Mike makes some great videos. they are more of a rough style over the shoulder type videos that i really like (no staged crap). I hunted with him a couple years ago and he's a real character. Although he filmed a bit of my hunt i don't think its going on any videos :) He's got some great goat hunts on some of the videos as well. One that ran past him at 10 feet after the shot!

I get that impression from him just watching the videos...seems like quite the character that just happens to be just filming what he loves. And that shot the goat that runs right by them after being hit is just awesome footage no matter how ya slice it!
