I have an 18” 7 saum planning to shoot 150-175 gr bullets. Saami spec chamber. I can’t find rl23 anywhere which is one I want to try. I can find n560 and h4350 lots of places. Thoughts ideas?

175's - N560 and RL23 are my favorite. H4350 is very accurate and consistent, but about 50-100 FPS slower. I don't have any experience with anything less than 175's, but H4350 might be the ticket for lighters pills.

I'm currently putting together a 7saum and asked the same question. From what I gathered RL 23 was a favorite, followed by h4831sc. H4350 for the light weight, and H1000 for the heavies. I'm not sure how to attach a thread but search 7saum powder selection.

I’d give 560 a try although it might be a bit slower.

I’ve had good results with H4831sc with Berger 168 VLD-Hs. Working with N565 and Berger 180 hybrids and getting great velocities, low ES/SDs and very good accuracy so far but haven’t wrapped up load development just yet

Had good results loading for a friends 7 saum with N560, 7828ssc and reloder 26. With 175 gr bergers we were right around 2900 fps out of a 24 inch barrel with all 3 powders, N560 produced the best groups.

Ive ran H4350 from 143 Hammers to 168 VLDS. There are powders that crank out a little more speed with the heavies but the SDs on all the weights were great. That's the main reason I haven't tried anything else.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. What kind of velocities are you getting with the H4350?

The 143 hammers were 3035fps and the 168 VLDs were 2840fps. I was shoving them into a 2.860" box. That is being fixed. in about a week I will have a 2.955" box. I'll have a little more room to bump the charge and check pressure. I didn't hit pressure with those loads and they shot well. I should be able to get closer to the lands now.

Vlds are strange, I have 1 7RM that likes the 168s jammed, my other 7RM like them far away.

Yeah, I had the Classic Hunters before. They were setup at around a .010 jump and shot pretty well. When I move to the VLDs my mag box forced me to push them further down. In my other rifles it seemed like the VLDs were happier closer to the lands. Bergers website kinda said the same thing. The rifle is consistently 3/4 MOA right now. Im thinking that can tighten up a little.

I'd be curious to find out if the angle of throat lead has a correlation with how the vlds like be seated.

For all you fellas using N560, I seem to find only mixed things on temp stability with it. For those of you who have used it what did you find in terms of temp stability? Any input is greatly appreciated thanks guys!
